Garforth Golf Club is incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of Jake Wallis, who has just been named Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year and selected for the Third Team All-Conference – a phenomenal accomplishment in his first year at Arkansas State University.

Jake's debut season in the U.S. collegiate system has been nothing short of spectacular. He announced himself in style at his very first college event, shooting a school programme record-equalling 63 (-9) – a round that included a hole-in-one – and securing a brilliant third-place finish overall.

Since then, Jake has gone from strength to strength:

* He earned a top-ten finish at Reflection Bay Golf Club in Las Vegas.
* Claimed 4th place at AK-Chin Southern Dunes in Arizona, a performance that saw him named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week.
* Added further impressive rounds at Torrey Pines (South Course) and Kapolei Golf Club in Hawaii, showcasing his consistency across iconic venues.
* Closed out the regular season with a 7th place finish at his home event at Ridgepointe Country Club.

Jake helped lead Arkansas State to 2nd place in the strokeplay stage of the Sun Belt Conference Championship, and while the team narrowly missed out in the matchplay final, Jake finished a respectable 11th individually – an excellent result in such a competitive field.

We’re proud beyond words of what Jake has achieved across the Atlantic. He’s travelled far and wide, held his own against top players, and represented Garforth with excellence.

That said, we’re also excited to welcome him back home – because the real test awaits… the Mid Week Monthly Stableford next week at Garforth! No pressure, Jake.
